I really like Chloé, at least recently
I was very happy to see that in my new book (the one i mentioned the other day) appears Hannah MacGibbon (the Chloé creative director)
I don't know you but I would like to know a bit more about designers, what do they think and what does inspires them.
So, here it goes a little interview to Hannah MacGibbon
what inspires you? i find the women around me always a great inspiration
who do you have in mind when you design? it's not starting from references. I think that keeps it fresh. There's a sentiment at Chloé that i love, it's the house, rather than than any particular period.
how have your own experiences affected your work as designer? my years at valentino, i learnt so much - the process, the sense of respect, the feel for fabric and colour.
Is designing difficult for you? if so, what drives you to continue? the fact that i don't think theres any house that provides clothes for the girls we design for
what is your philosophy? to mantain a naïve, fresh approach that's so important
what is the most important lesson you have learned? you must stay true to your vision
