Lazaro Hernandez & Jack McCollough

"That's how we design and how people dress - with intellect, with spirit and an eye for the mix"

It's been a long long time since I didn't post an interview, so I think that would be a nice post to show you today, and who better that probably the best young couple of designers ever, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, the two guys behind Proenza Schouler ♥

What is your favourite piece from any of your collections?
It would be impossible to isolate a favourite because we have attachments to things for differents reasons, you can love one thing because it was the first, or the most successful, or the easiest or the most challenging.
What inspires you? The visual arts, especially photography and painting. The work of master couturiers. Travel. But there is never one specific reference, inspiration comes from everything, even if you don't recognise it at the time.
Who do you have in mind when you design? It's not one person. There is not one woman who is quintessentially Proenza Schouler. One of the most interesting things we have learned from doing this is what we have teenagers who wear our clothes and grandmothers who do too - which we love. The collection has so many different components, and all of the components can have many different lives, depending on the point of view. But that's what we want because that's how we design and how people dress - with intellect, with spirit and an eye for the mix.
Is designing difficult for you? If so, what drives you to continue? Like any job, there are periods, or proyects, that are more challenging than others, but that doesn't force you to quit; just get throught it. This is what we do and enjoy and are trained for So that, if nothing else, is what keeps us going.
What's your definition of beauty? Beauty is not only hard to define but it's impossible to prescribe. One of the most arresting things about beauty is often that it's a surprise - it's something that takes you off guard. If you tried to define it, you might restrict it, or run the risk of diluting it.
What is the most important lesson you've learned? That the most important lesson is probably yet to be learned.

Closet confessions by The Man Repeller

Good morning everybody!
Do you know Leandra Medine (also known as The Man Repeller)? I'm sure some of you do.
The thing is that I visited her blog during the bloglovin' awards and I thought she was crazy and never visited her blog again until a few months later. Then I started reading the blog, and reading it again, seeing her outfits, falling in love with them, being amazed by her craziness for fashion and now I'm totally addicted! ♥
Hope you like the video!

PD: Be careful, because if you watch it you'll be incredibly jealous of her wardrobe

Personally, I love this colour, I already bought a pair of burgundy pants this summer and I'm really looking forward a burgundy bag and a nice and cozy sweater

Are pretty girls stupid?

Hello, how are you? I've just found this lovely video from Rodarte SS 2012 fitting.
I've always been so curious about my favourite models, how they speak, how there voice is... and then I found this. I recommend you to watch it if you like Eniko Mihalik, Lindsey Wixson or Karlie Kloss (among many other models), she looks so nice

PD: some of the answers are very (and I mean VERY) stupid... Really? Doesn't Jourdan Dunn know who are the Rolling and the Beatles?
PD2: After seeing the video, I'm thinking about the "pretty girls are stupid" cliché. I've never thought that, but maybe after listening some answers I should reconsider it... Afortunately, some of them look clever.

My wishlist for fall

Ahhh, I wish I could buy all this clothes, aren't they amazing?
But, now, all I can do is dream about all those things hanging in my closet
I'm craving for a orange dress, a bowling bag (specially the one Sofia Coppola designed for Louis Vuitton), a clutch like this one by Proenza Schouler, nice sweaters, vests, jackets, a beautiful coat and a few gorgeous bracelets like these ones by Tom Binns, Aurélie Biderman or Eddie Borgo.
And you, what would you like to buy this fall?

And finally, Paris

Balenciaga
I think this was one of the most innovative collections showed at Paris Fashion Week. I loved it, I don't know weather they were the shoes, the amazing pants or the hats, but I love it.

Cacharel

Now Hannah McGibbon has left Chloé, Cacharel is my new Chloé. I'm not comparing these two brands, but Cacharel has also that soft, feminine and beautiful feeling that Chloé used to enchant me with.

Christian Dior
Who will head the maison Dior now that John Galliano's gone? That's still the big question.
Anyway, I've really liked this collection, I found it very "Jason Wu-ish" but maybe that's because the bright red lips and the beautiful and sheer dresses

Hermes

I had never posted about Hermes before but I really like the collection. You can't tell me that those two jackets aren't awesome.

Isabel Marant
I think I'm sick, me, posting about Balmain and Isabel Marant (and not about Chloé) and telling you I liked it? That sounds pretty weird. But... It's happening, and I have to say it. I LOVED Isabel Marant, I couldn't stand those boots from the Spring Summer 2010 collection, or the ones from this fall collection, but I've really liked what she have imagined for next summer. I'm so strange lately, the next thing you'll see me doing is liking LV speedy bag... Actually, not, I think (and hope) that will never happen.

Stella McCartney

I think anybody can deny it: Stella McCarney have been awesome this time. I liked every single piece from the collection, so with no doubt, this show was my favourite from all fashion week.

Valentino
I wasn't expecting anything exciting from Valentino this time, because there have been so many seasons showing more or less the same clothes, but this time it was something very new. I let you judge by the pictures

Bcn quart dia

I know you may be bored of my pictures from Barcelona, but I can't avoid posting them, I had so much fun and I think they show awesome places, so you may have to bear one last post. That day I went to Casa Batlló, I think it was the building I loved the most, more even than La Pedrera.

PD. Thanks for the support on the previous post, ahaha I finally managed to arrive on time. By the way, I promise I will stop showing you my hair on the next Bcn post.
Hope you're all having a nice week ♥

Boom Shala la

Quick post today, I'm running to university and it's my first day (but not first year) so It would be really bad if I arrived late on my first class there.
Anyway, do you know Shala Monroque (Pop Magazine editor)? Amazing girl, right? ♥

PD. By the way, the other day, Laila, the sweet girl behind Something like this, gave me an award. Thank you so so much, that was very kind of you, you really made my day!

Bcn tercer dia

I had so much fun this day. I enjoyed a walk in the city again, watching the port, some museums, the cathedral and the Horta Labyrinth. As you can see in the pictures, it's such a wonderful place, you should totally visit it if you go to Barcelona. By the way, have you ever seen the "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer"? Yes, that film starring Dustin Hoffman, well, some scenes take place there! Hope you like the pictures at least 1/10 of what I liked the places ♥
